Boulder Creek Puppies

BCBH "A" Litter

Welcome to Boulder Creek Bloodhounds!

Building on old foundations, we have the same high expectations for our Bloodhounds as we have for our Pepperhaus Rottweilers. We are committed to producing high drive, sound, working Bloodhounds, with good breed type, longevity and temperament, bred for what they are meant to be... manhunters.  If a bloodhound cannot do its job, it will not be in our breeding program. Our puppies are bred to perform a service for the community as great trailing K-9 candidates for law enforcement or SAR prospects, in addition to being well loved family companions.

Boulder Creek puppies are whelped in our home where they have close human contact. This allows them to gain lots of exposure to new sights, sounds, kids, and normal household happenings. We feel that puppies raised in a stimulating environment with close loving human contact produce well adjusted, happy, and better trainable adult dogs.

High drive,
strong nerves and a good work ethic are only a part of the great trailing dog puzzle. Good physical structure is a must to support the tough demands made of a trailing dog. Our dogs are checked for hip and elbow dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) They have been checked and certified for cardiac issues by Board certified cardiologists. They are checked and certified free of heritable eye disease by the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF).

For the past 11 years our dogs have been fed Columbia River Natural Pet Foods, an all natural, raw, species appropriate diet. One thing that I have come to learn with breeding and training dogs is that what you put into a dog impacts EVERYTHING about them as a whole. This includes how they feel, how they look, their endurance, and their ability to deal with stress. We had always fed our dogs premium kibble and I thought they looked great, but after making the switch to raw foods, they not only looked great they thrived!
